Yup, this is a year in review in post. And yup, I’m finally getting around to posting it in March. 2022 was a good year, my friends. I had so many lovely sessions with so many great families. Lots of new faces and lots of familiar ones too, which is always exciting to me.
Read MoreI have been so busy lately that I haven’t really had time to blog my family sessions, but when I was selecting images for this family’s sneak peek, I realized there were so many that I wanted to share from this one that I needed to do a blog post for it. I mean, everything about this session was a dream—the light, the family, the location.

Emily was one of my good friends from back when I worked a corporate job in the mortgage industry (before I became a full time photographer), and I was so excited when she reached out to see if I was available to capture her and Kyle’s wedding this past August.
Read MoreHave you ever wondered where you should have your family session? How about in your own backyard? I’m not going to lie, I do a little happy dance when a mom messages me that she wants to do her session in the backyard. There are so many great reasons to have your session here. How about the fact that you don’t have to load everyone into the car and drive anywhere? You just walk out your front door and there you are, ready to go.
Read MoreI know, I know. It’s March and I’m just now posting my 2021 Year in Review. The end of last year was super busy for me, and I decided to take some time off in the beginning of 2022 to rest and recuperate!
Read MoreI’m a big fan of taking ferry boats to photography sessions. There’s just something so fun about boarding a ferry, climbing to the top deck, sitting on one of the red benches, and feeling the sea breeze on your face as the ferry crosses Casco Bay to Peaks Island.
Read MoreWhere do I even begin with this one? Lauren and Daniel got married out on Peaks Island on a perfect mid-September day, and I have to say, it was pretty amazing. That’s because Lauren and Daniel are really, really good people who have really, really good families and really, really good friends and it just made the day a really, really beautiful, heartfelt, and joyous celebration of love.
Read MoreI have a confession to make. Lately I’ve been feeling a shift in my work. I find myself being drawn to more real and true to life images over ones that are posed or heavily directed by me. This is because my main goal at my family sessions is to create images that feel true to who you are as a family.
Read MoreI’m so excited to share this session on the blog today, because I've secretly (or not so secretly if you know me) been holding onto every last drop of warm summer weather I can, even as we head into fall.
Read MoreMary-Katharine and Blake got married on the first Sunday in August and I was lucky enough to document the day for them. I drove home from this wedding and I couldn’t stop smiling. For real. The joy Mary-Katharine and Blake exuded all day was palpable, and contagious.

Read MoreWhen I get asked what my favorite type of session to photograph is, I always, always think of Fresh 48 hospital sessions. There is just something so special about them. Maybe it’s because the time in the hospital goes by so quickly and everything feels so new and raw and real.
Read MoreEeeee! I’m so excited for today’s blog post. This session has been a couple years in the making, and I was so happy we were finally able to make it happen this summer while my sister and her family were up in Maine visiting.
Read MoreI’m a big believer in extended family sessions. These sessions are like family sessions, except you invite your siblings and your parents to join you on the beach or in the field or at your vacation home. I know they are a little more difficult to plan, and you’re dealing with a few extra opinions about the location, time, and outfit choices, but man are they worth the extra effort.
Read MoreGratitude. That is what I feel every time I walk into a home for a newborn session. Photographing newborns is such a privilege, and something that is just so darn amazing because I get to witness this new little soul exploring the world for the first time.
Read MoreJust give me all the newborns to photograph right now, seriously! And even better if there is an older sibling in the mix, because I really love the energy and unpredictability that toddlers bring to a newborn session.
Read MoreOften times I get asked when the best time to do a session is. My answer is always the same: anytime! There is no best time to book a session, because I believe that even the most ordinary, everyday moments in life are worthy of being captured. There is no need to wait for a special time to hire a photographer to come document the season of life you’re in. If you’ve looked around at your life and thought to yourself, “we should get photos taken,” that’s reason enough right there!
