Here is a little known fact about me: I didn’t grow up in Maine. I moved here in 2004 when I was in college, and after spending my first year living only 20 minutes from some pretty amazing beaches, I decided never to leave, despite that extremely cold and snowy winter. Summertime is my favorite season and I usually try to make as many days “beach days” as I possibly can. And I absolutely love when my families want to head to the beach for their sessions. Southern Maine has so many gorgeous beaches, and I always love the images that come from hanging out at the beach.

This particular late summer evening was a joy to photograph. The special bond between these two little girls and their Omi (German for grandmother) was magical. Omi lives in Germany, but always makes time to visit Maine in the summer so she can spend quality time with her grand-daughters—running, laughing, playing, and showering them with so many hugs and kisses. Here are a few of my favorite snaps from this warm, blustery evening at Pine Point Beach.
