2019 Year in Review | Maine Family & Newborn Photographer | Stepheney Collins Photography
All right friends, hold onto your butts. I’m borrowing one of my favorite movie quotes today because I’ve got a doozy of a blog post for you! (Bonus points for anyone who knows the movie that quote is from!) This one is a long one, so grab a cup of something delicious and settle in for my 2019 year in review!
I’m not going to sugar coat it; this post was a huge labor of love. It took multiple weeks to gather the images, as I went back through all my shoots from 2019 and picked my favorite photo from each session. It did get overwhelming at times, going back through more than 80 sessions. I am notorious for large galleries, and I love crafting a story out of multiple images that all work together, so to say that selecting a single image was hard is an understatement. Curating the images for this post was an exercise in the exact opposite of how I usually do my work. I had to practice self restraint and go with my gut on images that pulled me in and stuck out to me from each session. The ones that made the cut are the ones that made me feel all the feels.
All the photos are in the order they were taken. I began the year with a Fresh 48 hospital session down in Boston, and I ended it with a Fresh 48 hospital session here in Portland. It was an amazing year, and I am so, so grateful for every single family who hired me last year to tell their story through photographs. It was such an honor to continue telling the stories of all of my returning clients—I loved seeing how much your littles had grown since their last session! I also met so many incredible people for the first time and look forward to continuing to tell your story over time. As I look back on 2019, I feel so lucky to have been able to witness so many of your beautiful moments. My business wouldn’t have survived its first official year without all of you and I am so thankful for each and every one of you! This post is for you.
