One of my main goals when photographing my families is to capture them as they truly are. I want them to look at the images from their session and be able to see their authentic, real self in them. I often ask the question, "Who are you as a family? Where are you happiest? Let's do your session there!" I was so excited when Melissa and James wanted to meet me at their favorite spot and go paddle boarding at the end of their session. Being in a place that they love, with the people they love, doing something they love to do, was really beautiful to capture and felt a little bit like magic.
